Atheists like to say there is no proof of God. But there certainly is probability that the universe was designed by an Intelligent Being with a plan in mind. Living systems are so delicately balanced on earth that if any one of millions of variables were altered even slightly, life would cease to exist. For instance, the 77% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% carbon dioxide represent the ideal figures necessary for the survival of living beings.
The Delicate Atmosphere
Increase the oxygen level above 21% and the vegetation and hydrocarbon molecules needed for life would be destroyed. Reducing it would cause difficulties in our respiration, and the food we eat would not be converted into energy.
The amount of nitrogen in the atmosphere has the ideal ratio to balance the harmful and burning effects of oxygen. This ratio represents the perfect value required for photosynthesis, which is essential for life's energy supply on the earth. The amount of carbon dioxide has the exact value that is needed to maintain the stability of the surface temperature of the earth and to prevent heat loss, especially at night time. This gas, comprising 1% of the atmosphere, covers the earth like a quilt and prevents the loss of heat into space. If this amount were greater, the temperature of the earth would increase excessively, making life impossible.
If the ozone level were greater than its current value, the surface temperatures on earth would be too low. If it were less, surface temperatures would be too high, allowing too much harmful ultraviolet radiation at the surface.
At the same time, the earth has the ideal size in terms of magnitude to possess an atmosphere. If the mass of the earth were a little less, then its gravitational force would be insufficient and the atmosphere would be dispersed in space. If its mass were a little greater, then the gravitational force would be too much and the earth would absorb all gasses in the atmosphere. There is an incredibly high number of conditions required for the formation of an atmosphere like ours and all of these conditions must coexist to make life possible.
Planetary Precision
The thickness of the earth's crust constitutes another one of the delicate balances in the earth. If the earth's crust were thicker, too much oxygen would be transferred from the atmosphere to the crust and this would make human life impossible. If the earth's crust were thinner, volcanic and tectonic activity would be too great to permit life on earth.
If the 23.5 degrees inclination of the earth's axis was increased to 25 degrees, the polar caps would melt in a few hundred years, and the oceans would be flooded with ice. If the slant was 22 degrees, on the other hand, Arctic ice would invade the whole of Europe, and life would be possible only in the equatorial regions of the earth.
If the earth completed one revolution every 30 hours rather than every 24 hours, it would become a hurricane-ridden desert for living things. If, on the contrary, the earth rotated every 20 hours, most plants would be unable to complete their biological activity and fall victim to droughts.
No Plan Means No Predictabiity
Where did the order come from? If the universe came about by chance, there would be no predictability - no laws of science. It is this predictability that allows scientists to put satellites in orbit around mars, a feat equivalent to throwing a basketball from New York City to San Francisco and getting nothing but net! Clearly there is a mind behind the order in the universe. And not just a mind, but a power to create and sustain it.
Suppose for a minute that you were the only person in the universe. One day as you were walking along the beach you spotted a Rolex watch in the sand. Amazingly, it kept perfect time! You couldn't find any footprints in the sand, nothing left by an owner. Yet you can make perfect sense of this watch and its workings. What would you assume? That since there is no other evidence of an owner, it must have been created by the action of wind and waves over billions of years? Or that, given no evidence to the contrary, it must have been made by someone who thinks and acts like you even despite the lack of any other physical evidence?
If you choose to believe the watch was created by the action of wind and waves you forfeit the possibility of ever finding the one who created it. If, on the other hand, you were convinced the watch was made by an Intelligent Being, you would search for Him with all your heart until you found Him. And, oh by the way, there may be no conclusive proof for the existence of God, but neither is there nor will there ever be any conclusive proof for evolution. If there were, it would be a law, not a theory.
Casual Christian by Craig Olson
The funny thing is that even some Christians argue about this issue. When you see what surrounding you, everything is made for some purposes, but some people can not see it.
The connection between bugs and some plants. Bird carrying some seeds.. or some plants need mice to carry the seed to survive. If one thing is extinct, anything relies on that thing will also go away. I used to love talking about these things, but no one really tried to understand, so I stopped talking about it.
This is what we need - an insight to make eveyrnoe think
